A Stagecoach Christmas by Diana Kullgren, Youth Theatre Director,

"I am a Youth Theatre teacher and director at a small Community Theatre in
a suburb of Cleveland. We are doing a Christmas play (as the Youth Theatre
traditionally does every year) and this year the play we are doing is one
I wrote called "A Stagecoach Christmas". The Theatre happens to
have a set piece of a Stagecoach, so we use it to tell a story of some
travelers who are stranded on the day before Christmas (lost in the
wilderness!) by a broken down stagecoach. The story line goes that some of
the travelers are trying to make a little Christmas celebration for the
two little girl passengers on the coach, who are sad that they will be
missing Christmas with their father, since the coach broke down. During
the course of the play (about one hour long) the travelers act out
Christmas skits and poems and sing carols (which the audience are
encouraged to participate in). It's not epic literary drama, but it's a
sweet little play and I have the greatest actors (ages 7 to 16) who are in
it, so it makes a fun event for parents or grandparents to take their kids
or grandkids to for a holiday outing. The Theatre adds to our event by
following it up with a luncheon of pizza and punch for everyone in the
audience and then a visit with Santa who gives each child plenty of time
and a photo op and a small gift, which this year is a red, blue or green
reindeer cup and a candy cane.
The kids who are acting in my play are so wonderful and I am so proud of
them and I was looking for something special to give them as a memento of
the show (our final two performances are next Saturday, December 15, 2007)
when I suddenly Googled your site and saw the stagecoaches! I was so
thrilled - they are perfect and will give each one my cast a great
souvenir of the happy time we have spent together rehearsing our show and
presenting it to very appreciative audiences.

several ex-students of mine on Broadway and in national touring companies
of shows like "Rent" , "Fame", "Hairspray" and "The Producers" and many,
many more as theatre and musical theatre majors in colleges all over the
United States. I love kids and since God only saw fit to give me one
wonderful child of my own, I've adopted hundreds of other people's
children! Thanks so much for helping me make something special happen for
a group of great talented kids who have given their time and ability to
make a happy Christmas event for our audiences!
